Find someone to talk to

"I saw my father hurt my mum. It made me suffer. I wasn't a joyful little girl anymore."

After experiencing domestic violence, 19-year-old Srey Neang from Cambodia started having mental health issues. She was sad all the time, couldn't focus and her grades started dropping.

As she struggled to cope, she shut out her friends and family.

"When I was feeling sad, I stayed alone, but it didn't help. It made me more depressed and feeling so lonely."

One day, Srey Neang took up circus training. She loved it and decided to keep going. Soon, she felt happy again.

"I didn't feel lonely anymore. I had teachers to guide me and many friends to talk to. It made me feel better and better."

Today, Srey Neang is on a mission to help other young people who are suffering, especially during COVID-19.

"Find someone you trust to talk to. It will help you feel better."
